How does cacao work?
Raw cacao contains an amazing range of beneficial properties, among these are precursors to neurotransmitters. These chemical messengers affect our mood and can very delicately alter our mental perspectives. These shifts, although subtle, can bring forth an awakened emotional-intelligence, a door to personal transformation through inner journeying and self-love. If you trust, surrender and get out of your own way, then cacao can show you many insights. If you choose to work with cacao with commitment, she can be the bridge that awakens you to your personal power and encourages you to make simple changes so that you align with who you truly are and live an authentic and limitless life.
Cacao as a Plant Medicine
The entire cacao fruit was used medicinally by the Mayan, Olmec and Aztec civilizations and is still used today in ceremonial context in South America and globally by trained and dedicated practitioners. Identified as a complete food source; cacao has more than 300 phytochemicals, including vitamins, minerals, and dietary nutrients such as: fat, carbohydrates, fiber, iron, zinc, copper, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur. It also has quercetin, flavonoids, flavanols, xanthenes, polyphenols, caffeine, theobromine, phenylethylamine, and anandamide, among others. It has many uses as a stimulant, antibacterial, antioxidant, and protector of the cardiovascular system.*
“Cacao is a wake-up food. It wakes you up to your full power, to who you truly are, to the potentiality of the moment, to the infinite & abundant nature of the universe.” Kate Magic (Raw Food Expert)
